"Recently, the state of Pennsylvania introduced SB217, a bill that would eliminate parental and child rights to refuse vaccination. Natural Blaze reports: SB 217 amends P.L.30, No.14 known as the Public School Code of 1949 as follows: Section 1303. Immunization Required; Penalty.–* (e) Notwithstanding any rule or regulation to the contrary, a strong moral or ethical conviction similar to a religious belief may not qualify as an exemption from the immunization requirements of this section. Should the bill pass, it will take effect within just 60 days. Four senators, Democrat Daylin Leach, Democrat Lawrence D Farnese, Democrat Sharif Street and Republican Bob Mensch, joined forces to introduce the bill, which would strip Pennsylvanians of their right to say no to a vaccine that they believe will harm their child. This bill is twofold for me. First, I truly believe vaccines should be considered “experimental” as they are not held to the same safety standards as other pharmaceutical drugs-- they are not tested for an adequate length of time nor are they tested against a placebo. Instead they are tested against another vaccine or the adjuvants that are present in the vaccine being tested--these are not placebos. Vaccines should be held to even higher standards than pharmaceutical drugs, especially if we’re going to mandate them on defenseless infants whose immune systems are not developed sufficiently enough until after the age of two or three to even consider injecting them with such toxins. Second, this is a fundamental right, two actually, the right to informed consent and choice on health matters, AND the right to a public education for our children. We can’t stand by and allow our rights to be stripped from us, and we can’t stand by while countless children are being injured needlessly for profit masked as a “public health issue.”
First off, I want to give you the information you’ll need to stand with our children and against this bill--in case I lose some of you along the way.

Here is what I wrote to my senator:
Dear Senator,
I'm writing on behalf of the SB217 (An Act amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, in pupils and attendance, further providing for immunization required and penalty). I am deeply concerned that this bill may pass, and wanted to know where you stood on this issue. Along with many other mothers and parents, we do not want this right stripped away from us--as it would be to the detriment of health and society as a whole--not the opposite. This would conflict with our fundamental rights to informed consent and the right to choose what is best for our bodies and our children. The First Principle of the Nuremberg Code is “The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential. This means that the person involved should have legal capacity to give consent; should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision.”
The federal court system itself stated in 09-152 Bruesewitz v. Wyeth LLC (02/22/11) - Supreme Court, that vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe.” With this knowledge, and the fact that vaccine companies no longer hold any liability for the damage their products cause (and the very little efficacy vaccines provide), I am asking for your vote against this bill. If you really delve into the subject and the many scientific studies, you will find that more children are harmed from vaccines than the number of children who statistically would be harmed because of the disease they’ve been vaccinated against—had it been naturally contracted. We all love our children and want what is best for them. I started on this journey truly believing vaccines were the answer, and the more I researched the more I discovered how little we truly know about them, and how motivated they are by money instead of public health. The testing that they go through is inadequate and neglectful, and nowhere near what a regular pharmaceutical drug must go through—which makes it even more appalling that our children should ever be at risk to be forced into their implementation. Take away the pharmaceutical companies shield from liability, take away the vaccine court, and maybe they will find the motivation to provide the public with a truly beneficial product that does not harm our children, teenagers, and even adults. I thank you so much for your time in reading this and for your consideration. I’m certain that if we all put our children’s safety and health first, this wrong will be righted.

If you want to take it a step further, tell your senators and representatives that we want the bill Missouri has proposed, HB 331, placed in the hopper in Pennsylvania. HB331 (Missouri House Bill 331) is a bill that would ban public health clinics from administering vaccines that contain mercury or any other metal put into the vaccine for preservation purposes, contradicting approved federal policy. This would be a great motivator for pharmaceutical companies to provide us with safe (safer) vaccine options. I don’t think anyone (“Pro” or “Anti” vaccine,or those in between) would be against a safer product that's gone through proper testing. And as an even bigger motivator, I'd love to see pharmaceutical companies held liable for the damage their products inflict instead of being shielded by the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 (Vaccine Court). Our children shouldn't be test subjects without their consent. And parents should not be the ones shouldering the costs when these vaccines damage their children, break their hearts, and obliterate their world. Pharmaceutical companies need to be held accountable.
I appreciate all of you for taking the time to read this--whether you do anything or not. Knowledge matters, truth matters, and having all the information--not just that which is spoon-fed to us by doctors who receive their information from the pharmaceutical reps who sell them the vaccines, but real scientific studies--and ones that aren’t just performed by the CDC (it’s well-known that the CDC and the pharmaceutical companies are intimately linked) and labs paid for by Pharmaceutical companies. It’s not just about the results of a scientific study, it’s about how the study was performed, the procedures, protocol used too--that needs to be examined as well during research. Look to those independent studies that have no other motivation than to see what the outcome actually is. I’m not saying doctors are the bad guys, they don’t receive proper training in this subject matter and there are definite financial rewards for pushing vaccines in the pediatric world--such that it can make or break a practice. I’m just saying, if you asked your pediatrician what was in the vaccine they are giving your child along with its known side effects and risks, I bet that few of them would know, and you’d likely get a paternalistic smile along with the words, “Vaccines are safe.” Conversation closed. I’ve been there. I’ve been bullied and I’ve been denied care just because I tried to open a conversation about it! One of my pediatricians, who’s colleagues with Paul Offit, was so angry with me that he told me there is absolutely no controversy whatsoever on the subject--as if the numerous studies, replicated, and widely available on the subject just do not exist. They exist. Trust me, or no, don’t trust me, look them up for yourself!
I was pregnant when I started my research into vaccines. My OBGYN advised me to get the DTaP and Flu vaccines, and a red flag went up for me... I can’t even take Advil or Zyrtec and you want to inject me with vaccines that have NEVER been tested on pregnant women nor fetuses. I had heard the term “anti-vaxxer” before and never gave it much thought because in my mind vaccines had been tested and were safe as directed by the CDC schedule, and if someone was vaccinated, then they needn’t fear the unvaccinated because, well, they’re vaccinated. So, as I started my research, I looked for the most neutral book on the subject because I wanted the most unbiased view of the information in order to make my own conclusions. I read cover to cover “The Vaccine Book” by Dr. Sears. This book is incredibly well done and thorough, but it left me asking more and more questions. Needless to say, I did not receive the DTaP or Flu vaccines while pregnant. Nearly three years later, I’ve come to the conclusion (on a research journey we all need to take for ourselves), that as they stand, vaccines are ineffective and dangerous. I’ve researched how the immune system develops, and how detrimental vaccines are to that development when given in the quantity they’re currently being given and the time--before the age of two-- right when the immune system is doing its most important work to make itself whole. I don’t consider myself an “Anti-vaxxer”, instead I am a mother, just like all other mothers out there, who want an acceptable (i.e. truly safe) option, and the choice to refuse, if an acceptable option is unavailable. This bill would take that right away from all of us. It would take away our right to protect our children, and for what? Most of the childhood diseases we vaccinate against were in decline before the vaccines were even introduced due to better sanitation and improved medical care. It’s the fear-mongering pharmaceutical companies who have a financial interest, and government in their pocket, that makes us think otherwise. Herd immunity--does not exist for vaccines--it can only be seen in communities where people have acquired natural immunity--vaccines do not give this. When the immune system is allowed to develop properly, with good nutrition, and high levels of sanitation, we're able to naturally cope with these childhood diseases (and diseases into adulthood, example the flu) and get immunity that is more comprehensive (Th1 and Th2 immunity) and long lasting (nearly a lifetime... around 70 to 80 years)--and it is this type of immunity that contributes to "herd immunity." I heard it put this way recently, and thought it was a better way to simplify the concept: "If the vaccines worked for everyone, forever (duration), then it would work similarly to natural herd immunity. BUT when the vaccines do not work for everyone and they do not last for very long (immunity duration), and it HARMS the immune system (toxins, etc.), then the herd immunity concept falls apart." Well said.
When I first started this journey, I consistently thought to myself... why did I go down this path, if I had only nodded and accepted what the doctors said I could go about in ignorant bliss, happily unaware of it all. But I was like Alice down the rabbit hole, and now I’m so grateful that I cared to continue researching because my son has benefited from it--however many times I’ve been yelled at and harassed over it, it’s all worth it, for him. The very few studies that have been done on vaccinated vs. unvaccinated (and I wish there were more) show that unvaccinated children are far more healthy, are sick less frequently, and when they are sick, their immune systems are robust enough to fight it off quickly and most often without complications. My son falls in line with all of that.
